About Mind Over Matter Trauma Consultancy
Meet Shannon - Trauma Specialist / Director
Shannon’s relevant sector experience includes employment history across multiple integrated services throughout south-east Queensland, in fields of community engagement and development, policy writing, community recovery, family support services, settlement services, the disability sector, homelessness programs, behaviour change programs, and many more.
In addition to experiencing various positions in statutory settings such as Corrective Services, Youth Justice, Child Safety, and Federal Government.
Growing up in rural regions steeped in cattle farming, Aboriginal heritage, and familial police culture provided Shannon with real world experience of the neuropsychological and physiological pervasiveness of trauma, and the absence of universal service accessibility. The complexities of community recovery from environmental and anthropogenic disasters are of additional interest to Shannon.
